How do I know if therapy is right for me?
You do not need to be certain. A consultation can help you ask questions and decide whether counseling may be a good next step.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is a starting point. You can talk about what has been difficult, ask questions, and decide what support you want.
Is what I say confidential?
Clients can expect what they say to their therapist to stay between them and the counselor. There are a few exceptions to this rule. If a client appears to be a danger to themself or someone else—for example, by expressing an intent to die by suicide or harm another person—and the counselor believes this is a real and imminent threat, the therapist will break confidentiality and seek outside help for the client. Wisconsin law may also require reports of suspected child abuse and, in certain circumstances, suspected abuse of an elder adult at risk or another adult at risk.
Audrey is currently working as a Licensed Professional Counselor–In Training (LPC-IT). LPC-ITs work under the supervision of a qualified supervisor, so Audrey may discuss aspects of your care as part of the supervision process.
Do you offer online therapy?
Audrey conducts virtual sessions through a HIPAA-compliant platform to ensure client confidentiality and security. Unfortunately, due to licensing restrictions, Audrey is unable to see clients who reside outside of Wisconsin, the state where she is licensed to practice. This limitation ensures compliance with legal and ethical standards governing mental health practice and ensures that clients receive appropriate care within their jurisdiction. Audrey remains committed to providing support and resources to individuals within her licensed area and is available to explore alternative options for those seeking assistance outside of her practice area. Please speak to Audrey to determine if virtual sessions are clinically appropriate.
Do you offer in-person counseling?
Yes. In-person counseling is available at Healing Ray Counseling LLC, 405 East Forest Street, Suite 117, Oconomowoc, WI 53066. Please contact Audrey to confirm availability and whether in-person counseling is a good fit.
Do you accept insurance?
Audrey currently accepts Medicaid. Coverage, authorization requirements, and benefits vary by plan, so please confirm your coverage before beginning services.
Do you offer sliding scale rates?
Sliding-scale options may be available based on income for clients in need. Please contact Audrey to discuss current availability and eligibility.
Is EMDR right for everyone?
No. EMDR may be helpful for some people, but fit depends on readiness, stability, goals, and clinical judgment.
Can parents reach out for a teen?
Yes. Parents or caregivers can ask about age range, consent, confidentiality, fit, and next steps.
How do I schedule?
Use the contact page to ask about scheduling or send a brief scheduling question. Audrey can follow up about fit, availability, and next steps.
What if I am in crisis?
Call 911, call or text 988, or go to the nearest emergency room if immediate help is needed.
